Synopsis: Created by Director Michael Apted, this film is the longest running documentary project in film history which began as a study of the influence of class on schoolchildren in England. In "Seven Up", part one of this documentary, Apted visited and interviewed seven children from different backgrounds. Every seven years he would visit them again, recording the changes in their lives.
In "42 Up", the sixth film from this documentary,
all of the people interviewed have now grown up into mid-life and experienced many reversals of fortune. Although three of the interviewed people are no longer in the spotlight, those that remain paint an illuminating picture of love, life, honesty, success, failure and death. Beyond what appears in a normal documentary, this film has made an impact on these people's lives. Some have bonded closer as others become more anxious as they await the seven-year ritual once more.
